Freedom has a price, wither to obtain or to maintain. For freedom to be gained in the beginning someone usually has paid a high price. In the ongoing days of living, maintaining freedom again usually comes at an extreme cost.
The freedom we enjoy in the United States is not any different—it comes with a price. The estimated American casualties for all of the wars fought for the liberties we enjoy amounts to 1,310,739 lives. However, these numbers do not reflect the wounded or the missing in action. Then there is the inestimable loss to the families of these brave men and women that have sacrificed their lives. This is a tremendous cost to pay that we may maintain the freedoms we enjoy.
On this Fourth of July, as we celebrate our Independence, let’s remember those that have fallen, the missing, the wounded, and especially their families in prayer. Give thanks to God for our great nation and for those that so willingly gave of themselves to gain and preserve this blessing we call FREEDOM. One nation under God.
God bless each of you, and may God Bless America.
